Stopping a replication after it has begun copying data can leave the destination data in an unreliable state. The state of the destination data depends on how long the subscription ran, the commit interval that was used for the bulk copy procedures, and the destination and replication options that were specified for the destination table. If the subscription or group finished running before the cancellation request was actually received by the Replicator Service, the destination data may be fine. But if the cancellation request interrupts the replication, the destination data should not be used.
To stop a replication that is currently running:
In the main Replicator Manager window, select the subscription or group that is associated with the replication you want to stop.
Right-click and select the Stop Subscription or Stop Group command, as appropriate for the selected object.
You cannot stop an incremental replication operation or group. Use the Pause Updates and Resume Updates commands if you need to temporarily stop an incremental subscription or group.
