The Add Columns dialog allows you to designate additional source columns to replicate. In conformance with standard SQL capabilities, you can add a column that is already designated for replication. This will cause the column to appear more than once in the destination table, providing that you specify a unique name for each column in the destination table. Unique column names within a table are required for correct operation.
The upper part of the Add Columns dialog box lists source column names and data types. If a data type has precision and scale values associated with it, these are displayed in parentheses following the data type name. To display only the source columns that are not currently selected for replication, enable the Show Unused Columns Only checkbox. To display all source columns, disable this option.
To add a column to the list of columns to be replicated, use one of the following methods:
Double-click the column you want to add. This method immediately adds the column to the list of columns to be replicated, while continuing to display the Add Columns dialog box. When you have finished adding columns, close the dialog box by clicking Cancel. (If you click OK to close the dialog box, any currently highlighted column will be added to the replication list, which may result in a duplicate listing.)
Click the first column you want to add, then use standard Windows Shift-Click or Ctrl-Click operations to select additional columns. When you have selected all the columns you want to add, click OK to add them and return to the Columns tab or corresponding Wizard screen.
