The Refresh command updates all visible information displayed in both panes of the main window. It does not update unexpanded branches in the left pane. These are updated when they are expanded, along with the information displayed in the right pane.
Under normal circumstances, Data Replicator automatically updates visible information for active subscriptions and connections, regardless of whether you execute the Refresh command. You can use the Update Speed command in the View menu to control how often automatic updates take place.
