If you cannot connect the Replicator Manager to the Replicator Service, check the following:
Use the Windows Services Control Panel to verify that the StarQuest Data Replicator services are started.
If the SQDR service is started, examine the Application event log for SQDRSVC error messages. This will often reveal issues such as expired passwords or licenses.
Use the Computer Management Windows administrative tool to verify that any Windows userID's used to run the SQDRSVC or access the control database have not been disabled or have expired passwords.
If you are using Db2 for LUW as your control database:
Use the Windows Services Control Panel or the Db2 system tray icon to verify that the Db2 service is started.
Try to log on to Db2 e.g. with db2 connect to SQDRC user sqdr, to verify that you are using a valid login and password.
Use Db2 Data Studio, ODBC Test, or the db2 command line utility to verify that the login you use when attempting to connect to the Replicator Service is permitted to access the Data Replicator control database.
If you are using Microsoft SQL Server as your control database:
Use the Windows Services Control Panel to verify that the MSSQLSERVER (or MSSQL$named_instance) service is started.
Try to log on to SQL Server using osql, ODBC Test, ISQL/w or Query Analyzer to verify that you are using a valid SQL Server login and password.
Use SQL Server Studio or the osql utility to verify that the login you use when attempting to connect to the Replicator Service is permitted to access the Data Replicator control database, and is associated with one of the user names for that database.
