A source provides the data that you want to replicate. It is identified by a particular Data Source Name (DSN). You can use the same source object with different destinations for various purposes. A source object can be a table, view, alias, or a synonym that serves as a nickname to a relational table.
When you select the Sources folder in the left pane of the main window and select Details from the View menu, the right pane displays the following information for each source:
The name Data Replicator uses to identify the source
The ODBC Data Source Name (DSN) associated with the source
The User ID that Data Replicator uses when obtaining data from the source
To sort the list of sources, click any right pane column header to sort according to the values in that column. Click the same column header again to change between ascending and descending sort order.
When you select a specific source in the left pane of the main window and have Details selected for the View menu options, the right pane displays the following:
The name that Data Replicator uses to identify the source
The ODBC Data Source Name (DSN) associated with the source
The User ID that SQDR uses when obtaining data from the source (for a SQL Server source, this is the SQL Server login)
The number of connections to the source that are currently active
The number of connections to the source that are being held open in the connection pool
Select a source in the right pane and right-click to display a context menu from which you can delete the source (which also deletes any subscriptions to that source) or display the source properties.
