StarLicense System Requirements
StarQuest products can be licensed by one of the following methods:
- Installing a local license on each workstation (workstation licensing). Windows only.
- Using a StarLicense server. This involves installing a StarLicense server on one or more
servers, and configuring all clients to connect to the server. Management tools are
provided for configuring and monitoring the license server.
The StarLicense Server is supported on the following Windows platforms:
- Windows Server 2012R2, 2016, 2019, 2022
- Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11
For UNIX, the StarLicense Server is supported on:
- Red Hat Enterprise/CentOS/Oracle Linux 7.7 or later (i386 or x64)
- Other Linux distributions may work
- Contact StarQuest Support for legacy versions for other UNIX and UNIX-like platforms
Client-server licensing requires TCP/IP connectivity between the client and the server. The default port is 4999.
Client-server licensing can be used from StarSQL for Java running on any platform with a Java Runtime Environment.
