The StarSQL ODBC driver works within a TCP/IP network to connect a Windows client directly to a DB2 host. You can also use a SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection when supported by the host database, or in conjunction with a StarPipes Gateway.
If you require SNA connectivity to your host, the StarQuest StarPipes software can serve as a gateway between clients on a TCP/IP network and DB2 hosts on an SNA network. StarPipes can also be used to provide a SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) connection over a public network.
