When you create multiple subscriptions that use the same source, the last pane of the Add Subscription Wizard shows the subscription names, source objects, source type, and the destination object name and object type that will be created. Click Finish to save the subscriptions. The Data Replicator Manager validates the subscriptions, displays a dialog that describes any invalid subscription properties, and then displays a Multiple Subscriptions dialog that shows the subscriptions that were successfully created and any that were not created.
After you create a group of snapshot subscriptions, review the properties for each subscription to help ensure it will replicate the intended data at the desired time. When you edit each subscription you can change properties that cannot be specified while you are creating a group of subscriptions, such as the destination table name that was assigned, adding criteria for which data is replicated, adding SQL statements to process the data before or after replication, selecting whether to replicate any indexes or constraints, and a specific schedule for running the subscription automatically.
Run each subscription and inspect the destination table to verify that the subscription works correctly. The Data Replicator validates many of the subscription properties when you save the subscription, but some characteristics (such as authority over destination tables) must be tested by running the subscription.
If you are creating multiple subscriptions that perform incremental replication, run the initial baseline replication for the subscriptions when they are saved or soon after. This helps avoid problems that would occur if a source table structure is modified, such as adding or deleting columns or indexes or altering primary keys, between the time a subscription is defined and the time the baseline replication is performed. |
