Viewing Diagnostic Messages

You can view diagnostic messages concerning Data Replicator operations from within the Replicator Manager, from a text editor, from the Windows operating system, and from SQL Server utilities if they are available. The following table describes what diagnostic information you can find in each location.

Replicator Manager main window

Shows statistics about each subscription that has been run. With the View menu set to show Details, select the desired subscription to display historical statistics for the subscription in the right pane. Select a subscription from the Members folder of a group to display only the statistics for the subscription as it relates to running the group.

Replication Statistics dialog

Provides detailed success or failure messages for the selected replication event. Double-click any replication event listing for a particular subscription to display the detailed event information.

Windows Application Event Log

Shows activity of the Replicator Service and replication operations. Run the Event Viewer console and sort or filter  the Source column to group all the Replicator Service (SQDRSVC) entries. If you need to capture ODBC messages, increase the event logging level as described in Service Properties Logging Tab.
