The StarPipes Management Console uses the standard Microsoft Management Console (MMC) interface.
At the top of the console window are main menus--File, Server, View, and Help--which provide commands for acting on the objects in the console display and controlling how the console appears. You also can select an object and right-click the mouse to display a context-sensitive menu of commands that perform valid actions based on the object that is selected.
Below the menu bar is a toolbar that contains icons for performing common operations. You can control whether the toolbar appears by toggling the Status Bar command of the View menu. The toolbar icons are described in the following table.
The Add Server icon displays the StarPipes Configuration dialog so you can select which StarPipes server computer you want to add to the management console. |
Select a StarPipes server and click the Remove toolbar icon to remove the server from the console display. |
Select a StarPipes server and click the Properties icon to display the StarPipes Configuration dialog with tabs for setting the Service Control, Communications, and Logging properties. |
Click the Refresh button to refresh the console display with current information. |
Click the Help button displays a dialog with information about the StarPipes software version and copyright. |
After you add a server the name of the server computer appears in the left pane of the console. Active StarPipes connections are displayed in the right pane so you can view and manage connections. The Split command on the View menu lets you adjust the width of the left and right panes.
