If you need to temporarily stop updates for a group of incremental subscriptions, such as to resolve an error condition or perform hardware maintenance, you can pause the group. The updates will continue to be staged so they can be applied to the destination when you resume the update operation. If you need to upgrade the SQDR Plus software or perform maintenance on the host, you can avoid temporary errors if you pause or stop the Incremental group and delete the connection while the host is unavailable. Resume updates for the group after the updated SQDR Plus software is running.
You can also select a source and destination and pause or resume all incremental groups associated with the source or destination.
While the incremental group is paused, the status for each of the subscriptions and the group reflects the warning state (, ) and the statistics icon changes from Active () to Stopped (). When you resume the updates, changes at the source that have been staged while the subscriptions were paused are applied to the destination.
Depending on the activity that occurs on the source while an incremental group is paused, another baseline replication may be needed to re-synchronize the destination data with the source data. You can set the group schedule to run baseline replications automatically as they are needed, or execute the Run Group command to clear most error conditions. To force a new baseline replication for an incremental subscription select the subscription from the Subscriptions folder beneath the corresponding source (Sources folder) and execute the Run Subscription command.
