The Schedule properties tab allows you to schedule a snapshot subscription or group (incremental or snapshot) to run automatically, such as to run the subscription or group on a specific date or on a regular basis. If a subscription is a member of a group you can schedule the group to run independently of the individual subscription. Be careful that the schedules do not overlap or the subscription will be busy when it is triggered by the other schedule.
For subscriptions to run automatically, the appropriate network connections must be functioning at the scheduled time, and the Replicator Service must be running and be able to access the control database and the source and destination database. |
Select the Scheduled checkbox to enable the schedule. If you de-select the Scheduled checkbox, the subscription or group will not run automatically until the Scheduled option is again enabled. Subscriptions and groups can always be run on demand using the Run Subscription or Run Group commands, regardless of whether you define a schedule for automatically running the subscription or the group.
Select the One Time option, and enter the date and time for replication in the On Date and At Time edit fields, to run the subscription or group once at the specified time. Select the Recurring option to run the subscription or group on a regular basis, such as nightly, daily, or weekly. Click Change to display the Task Schedule dialog to define or modify the schedule for running the subscription or group.
If you are creating multiple snapshot subscriptions from the same source, the same replication schedule is applied to all the subscriptions you are creating. After you create the subscriptions you can edit individual subscriptions to modify the schedule for each.
If you modify an existing schedule, and do not wish the subscription or group to run immediately after saving your change (for instance, you have a subscription or group that should be run only at night or on weekends), be sure to modify the start date of the schedule.
